Inhabiting this planet are two women with Midwestern accents, who hypnotize the children to find they fantasize about milk, donuts, and Gamera, our favorite hero turtle. The women simply want to eat their brains. Gamera rescues the children while fighting Guiron, a monster with a giant knife for a nose. Gamera kills Guiron while doing gymnastics on a parallel bar and takes the kids home, where the kids hope for peace, understanding, and the end of traffic accidents. | Gamera 2: Attack of Legion - Final Battle 2 | Gamera Ts?: Region Sh?rai ガメラ2 レギオン襲来 Gamera 2: Legion Invasion, released in 1996, is the tenth movie in the Gamera film series and the sequel to Gamera: Guardian of the Universe. The featured monsters are Gamera and Legion. A strange meteor lands in Japan unleashing hundreds of insect-like "legion" creatures which find their way into Tokyo. When the military fails to control the situation, Gamera shows up to deal with the ever-evolving space adversary. This movie rocks! Gamera gets a serious facelift for this feature, with a sleek new look and a bad attitude. No longer is he a hero just for the kiddies, but a serious threat to anything that gets in his way. The film looks great, has high production values, state of the art special effects, a killer music score, a tough no-nonsense attitude, and massive large scale destruction. Monster movie fans are sure to be thrilled. Even without the benefit of subtitles I found the film to be riveting from start to finish. Highly recommended. | Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris - Final Battle 2 | Gamera 3: Awakening of Iris ガメラ3 邪神覚醒 Gamera Sur?: Iris Kakusei Gamera 3: The Evil God Awakens is a 1999 tokusatsu daikaiju eiga (giant-monster movie), the last (and often said to be the best) of the Heisei Gamera Trilogy. It was directed by Shusuke Kaneko, the original musical score was by Kow Otani, with special effects by Shinji Higuchi. This final installment of the recent Gamera trilogy begins with schoolgirl Ayana discovering a large egg in a cave that, according to legend, houses demons. The egg hatches into a small monster, which Ayana decides to raise and quickly develops as psychic bond with. As Ayana's monster, named Iris, grows to adulthood, the flying turtle Gamera begins to take an interest in this new potential threat. Who will be the victor in the final battle, and how much of Japan will be left standing at the end? Wow, this movie is simply a wonder. Not only is it one of the best kaiju movies ever created, it's even one of the best monster movies ever made. Even better than a lot of the big-budget American productions can put together. I knew that this movie would be great because it had the director of the incredible successful Godzilla movie GMK: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack. Shusukue Kaneko is just a marvelous director. He's like the Steven Spielberg of Japan, only he deals with low-budget productions and still makes masterpieces out of them. Overall Gamera: Revenge of Iris is a masterpiece and definitely not something that any ordinary director can make. Let's hope that we see Shusuke Keneko direct another kaiju film, because he definitely has the talent to do it. | Gamera: Guardian of the Universe - Final Battle 1 | Gamera daikaiju kuchu kessen ガメラ 大怪獣空中決戦 Gamera: Giant Monster Mid-Air Battle a 1995 tokusatsu film, is the ninth entry in the Gamera film series and first in Shusuke Kaneko's Gamera Trilogy. It features the monsters Gamera and Gyaos. The giant flying turtle is back for this 1995 Japanese feature where once again Gamera's intentions are misinterpreted by the military. All Gamera wants to do is take on his old enemy, Gyaos, the giant prehistoric bird who has nested atop Tokyo Tower. Wow! What fun this film is..fun and moving. Made me feel like a little kid again, rooting on my favorite superhero..only this superhero is most unusual indeed what with him being a super-propelled fire-spitting space turtle of great destructive power! I really expected the connection Gamera had with Asagi to eventually descend into annoying or irritating territory but it never does because her character remains thoroughly sympathetic and proves very heroic herself. The only thing bad I can think of to say about this film is that Gaos might be too scary for some really young kids. Aside from that, this film is a winner all the way. Recommended to anyone who loves superheroes and giant monsters! Other part here: Gamera: Guardian of the Universe - Final Battle 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMPshrG6gxY | |

| Gamera 2: Attack of Legion - Trailer 1 | Gamera Ts?: Region Sh?rai ガメラ2 レギオン襲来 Gamera 2: Legion Invasion, released in 1996, is the tenth movie in the Gamera film series and the sequel to Gamera: Guardian of the Universe. | Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris - Trailer | Original Theatrical TRailer for Gamera 3: Awakening of Iris ガメラ3 邪神覚醒 Gamera Sur?: Iris Kakusei Gamera 3: The Evil God Awakens is a 1999 tokusatsu daikaiju eiga (giant-monster movie), the last (and often said to be the best) of the Heisei Gamera Trilogy. | Gamera: Guardian of the Universe - SFX Director 4 of 12 | Interview with SFX director, Shinji Higuchi (樋口真嗣, Higuchi Shinji?, born September 22, 1965 in Tokyo, Japan) is a storyboard artist (especially in anime) and is one of the top special effects wizards in Japan, best known for his work on the Heisei Gamera Trilogy. He works on both anime and tokusatsu projects. Shinji Higuchi Is the main namesake of the character Shinji Ikari from the Gainax anime Shin Seiki Evangelion (Neon Genesis Evangelion). Winner of the 1996 Yokohama Film Festival Prize, Best Technical Special Effects for Gamera daikaiju kuchu kessen (1995) Gamera daikaiju kuchu kessen ガメラ 大怪獣空中決戦 Gamera: Giant Monster Mid-Air Battle a 1995 tokusatsu film, is the ninth entry in the Gamera film series and first in Shusuke Kaneko's Gamera Trilogy. | |
