so starting in october i've been feeling seperated from God. I'd been feeling depressed by school problems and family issues and friends and stuff like that. I felt so far away from God so I started looking for something to fill the hole. I did something I swore i would never do. I started smoking pot. Sure at the times I was high I couldn't even remember I was depressed but when I sobered up again I remembered all my problems and that everything was still the same. I also started drinking. This is my first complete original composition in many years. I wrote most of these riffs over a year ago, but I finally pieced together a complete song over the past few months. I think vocals would fit very nicely over this song, but I decided to keep it an instrumental for now. I left it short and sweet to keep your attention. I put a solo in place of the second verse of the song.
The recording process was a learning experience for me. This is the first time I used a full-fledged DAW software (REAPER), and I took some tips from RedSGShredder for creating my drum tracks (check him out—he is awesome! http://www.youtube.com/redsgshredder ). I'm not a drummer, so please don't expect anything great on the drum track. PetrucciFever gave me much-needed motivation to get started on some of my original material, so I owe a big thanks to him. He also gave me the idea to use pitch-shifted guitar for the bass line. He is another awesome player, so visit his channel if you havent done so already (http://www.youtube.com/petruccifever ).
Obviously there are multiple guitars layered in this song, so I'm only playing one part at a time for this video. Maybe in the future I'll take some time to learn Adobe Premiere and put together something a bit fancier. I plan to make a complete write-up on my website about how I recorded this song. | Julius Njau - Art montage | Julius Njau was born in 1961 in Marangu, Moshi in Tanzania. He attended the Kilimanjaro Primary School and the Moshi Technical Secondary School where he graduated. His career as an artist started when he began to paint while he had to spend two years in hospital after he broke his leg badly in 1972. There he was treated by a Finnish X-ray specialist who was the first to encourage his art, buying materials for him, and works from him. She organized his first exhibition in Finland in 1983. His early works were representaional, working with the themes of his people's traditions and wildlife. 1984 saw a dramatic change in his technique and style as he shifted into the abstract. His paintings are constructed from the interplay of primary colors and the intermingling of obscured shapes. We have suffered the damage of this unidentified noise and we are in trouble very much. This noise comes here about four or five days per week. We can hear it from 4PM to next day 8AM. It is impossible for us to receive weak DX signal on 40m band. This is a severe trouble for us. This noise has been coming since Spring of 2005. In this Video, You can see the S meter changes while I turn my 40m 4element yagi. I also recorded the noise by changing RX frequency.
The noise masked for 6970KHz to 7035KHz at 19:46jst(10:46utc) on April 24, 2008. We have to give up QSO for Caribbean Sea and East coast station on CW. The width of this noise is about 65 to 70 KHz. Depending on the day or time, the center frequency of this noise shifted up and down. We often have the other pattern which masked for 7025 to 7090 KHz.
I looked for the source direction by 4element yagi. It seems to be the direction from Tokyo to 230-250deg.
I would like to have your information about this noise.

The song also featured in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories as part of its soundtrack in the fictional pop radio station, Flash FM. The song was also used in the TV advertisements for the game in the United States and the United Kingdom. In 1994 it was sampled by Chris Morris for "Uzi Lover", a parody of gangsta rap (with Morris portraying its fictitious performer "Fur-Q") in an episode of The Day Today. The song was also covered by R&B/Gospel singer, Cheryl Gamble of SWV in 2001.
