--------------------------------------
People tell me I'm too high when I'm around, And
when I'm not I'm closer to the ground Well, I do
anything whenever I want, And I want to do it here
and now I'm on a one-way street, I can't retreat,
'Cos my mind and I play hide and seek They want to
make a problem out of me, 'Cos they want their own
problems unseen My mind's a gallery of memories, I
reflect the history I'm the sort of case of the
human race, That people find hard to face
I'm the living wreck, I live in Tooting Bec, I'm the
Cosmic Ted spaced out of my head I'm the living
wreck, I live in Tooting Bec, And I'm equal to
anyone I've met
I'm the second door on the third
floor, If you've got the key then please unlock me
But hey, don't talk to me, I'm not what you see,
I'm not here today, I'm miles away It's twice as
much reality when you're, Face to face with
history
Yeah its been a long trip, it made me flip
now i'm crawling on your bedroom floor now i'm
climbing up your bathroom wall and i search i
search in this shit i search for the eternal party
is it in my head or is it in my bed? baby, please
baby, I said baby is it here or is it there? what?
the second door on the the third floor tell me
more
I'm the living wreck, I live in Tooting Bec,
I'm the Cosmic Ted spaced out of my head I'm the
living wreck, I live in Tooting Bec, And I'm equal
to anyone I've met and I'm better than anyone
you've met!
I sing la la la la la la la la la well
I just got back from the outer space, they call me
the Flashing Psychedelic Kid cos i'm spaced out of
my head you know it feels so good when i reappear,
and its so sad to see your self disappear... I disappear... well, it's too bad. And I sing!

| NOAA Titanic Expedition 2004: Breathtaking Wreck Footage | Breathtaking... Nearly 20 years after first finding the sunken remains of the R.M.S. Titanic, marine explorer Robert Ballard returned in June 2004 helped by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Office of Ocean Exploration to study the ship's rapid deterioration.
The R.M.S. Titanic team worked aboard the NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown from May 30 through June 9 spending 11 days at the wreck site, mapping the ship and conducting scientific analysis of its deterioration. Using the Institute for Exploration (IFE) remotely operated vehicles (ROV's) Hercules and Argus, to conduct a sophisticated documentation of the state of Titanic was not possible in the 1980's. This "Look, don't touch" mission utilized high-definition video and stereoscopic still images to provide an updated assessment of the wreck site at an enormous depth of 3,840 meters (12,600 feet).
As the nation's ocean agency, NOAA has a vested interest in the scientific and cultural aspects of the Titanic, and in its appropriate treatment and preservation. NOAA's focus is to build a baseline of scientific information from which we can measure the shipwreck's processes and deterioration, and then apply the knowledge we gain to other deep-water shipwrecks and submerged cultural resources. | The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald - Gordon Lightfoot -V40 | The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" is a song written and performed by Gordon Lightfoot in commemoration of the sinking of the bulk carrier SS Edmund Fitzgerald on Lake Superior on November 10, 1975. It was inspired by the Newsweek article on the event, "The Cruelest Month", which appeared in the issue of November 24, 1975[1]. The song originally appeared on Lightfoot's 1976 album, Summertime Dream, and was later released as a single. The single reached #2 on the Billboard pop charts in November 1976, making it Lightfoot's second most successful (in terms of chart position) single, with "Sundown" reaching number one in 1974.
I have included the Remembrance Tribute to the 29 able bodied Seamem who lost their lives to "Ashokan Farewell" written and recorded by Jay and Molly Unger for The PBS Civil War Series produced by Ken Burns.

The wind in the wires made a tattle-tale sound
And a wave broke over the railing
And every man knew, as the captain did too
Twas the witch of November come stealing
The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait
When the Gales of November came slashing
When afternoon came it was freezing rain
In the face of a hurricane west wind

When suppertime came, the old cook came on deck saying
Fellas, it's too rough to feed ya
At seven PM a main hatchway caved in, he said
Fellas, it's been good to know ya
The captain wired in he had water coming in
And the good ship and crew was in peril
And later that night when his lights went out of sight
Came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
Does any one know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours
The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
If they'd put fifteen more miles behind her
They might have split up or they might have capsized
They may have broke deep and took water
And all that remains is the faces and the names
Of the wives and the sons and the daughters
Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
In the rooms of her ice water mansion
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams
The islands and bays are for sportsmen
And farther below Lake Ontario
Takes in what Lake Erie can send her
And the iron boats go as the mariners all know
With the Gales of November remembered
In a musty old hall in Detroit they prayed
In the Maritime Sailors' Cathedral
The church bell chimed til it rang twenty-nine times
For each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early

| Gordon Lightfoot- The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald | From the 1976 album "Summertime Dream"
Edmund Fitzgerald Lyrics:
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
of the big lake they called "Gitche Gumee."
The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead
when the skies of November turn gloomy.
With a load of iron ore twenty-six thousand tons more
than the Edmund Fitzgerald weighed empty,
that good ship and true was a bone to be chewed
when the "Gales of November" came early.
The ship was the pride of the American side
coming back from some mill in Wisconsin.
As the big freighters go, it was bigger than most
with a crew and good captain well seasoned,
concluding some terms with a couple of steel firms
when they left fully loaded for Cleveland.
And later that night when the ship's bell rang,
could it be the north wind they'd been feelin'?
The wind in the wires made a tattle-tale sound
and a wave broke over the railing.
And ev'ry man knew, as the captain did too
'twas the witch of November come stealin'.
The dawn came late and the breakfast had to wait
when the Gales of November came slashin'.
When afternoon came it was freezin' rain
in the face of a hurricane west wind.
When suppertime came the old cook came on deck sayin'.
"Fellas, it's too rough t'feed ya."
At seven P.M. a main hatchway caved in; he said,
"Fellas, it's bin good t'know ya!"
The captain wired in he had water comin' in
and the good ship and crew was in peril.
And later that night when 'is lights went outta sight
came the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.
Does any one know where the love of God goes
when the waves turn the minutes to hours?
The searchers all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay
if they'd put fifteen more miles behind 'er.
They might have split up or they might have capsized;
they may have broke deep and took water.
And all that remains is the faces and the names
of the wives and the sons and the daughters.
Lake Huron rolls, Superior sings
in the rooms of her ice-water mansion.
Old Michigan steams like a young man's dreams;

And the iron boats go as the mariners all know

in the "Maritime Sailors' Cathedral."
The church bell chimed 'til it rang twenty-nine times
for each man on the Edmund Fitzgerald.

It's called rump shaker, the piece is like sweeter than candy
I'm feelin' manly and you say it's comin' in handy
Slidin' my claws from New York down by N. Virginia
Ticklin' you around Delaware before I enter
Total seduction, from face, hips, to feet
A wiggle and jiggle can make the night complete
Now since you got the body of the year, come and get the award
Here's a hint, it's like a long chop sword
Flip town, so let me see you shake it up like dice
The way you shake your rump is turnin' mighty men to mice
But A+ got a surprise that's a back breaker
Now let me see you shake your rump like a rump shaker

Bound to get you up, cold flowin' like a faucet
Not meant to make you sit, Not meant to make you jump
But Jet make the hotties in the parties shake your rump

Come on pass the poom-poom, send it to papa
Shake it, baby, shake it, baby, shake it, don't stoppa
Let me see you do the booty hock, and now I'll make the booty stock

| The Maine Stein Song and Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech | This is a clip from an old movie that includes a rendition of I'm A Rambling Wreck from Georgia Tech. They don't start in on "I'm A Ramblin' Wreck" until about the 1:25 mark. The first half of this medley is the Maine Stein Song, the fight song of the University of Maine Black Bears.
This clip is from the 1947 ten minute movie short called "Let's Sing A College Song" from Universal's "Sing and Be Happy" series of audience participation sing-a-longs. The singing group is The Gordonaires of Fred Waring's Pennsylvanians and The University Chorus. This ten minute short has campus footage from five colleges and it was no coincidence that four of the five had football teams ranked high in the polls during the 1940s. The exception was the University of Maine but it was included because the producers wrongfully concluded that the audiences across America all knew the words to "The Stein Song." Most didn't, and still don't. Along with Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech and the Maine Stein Song, the college fight songs include "Victory Song" from Notre Dame, "Peruna" from Southern Methodist University and "Hail to California" from the University of California. Source: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0364662/
Unfortunately, this is only the last 2:05 of this ten minute movie short. It is humorous that "Hell of an Engineer" becomes "Heck of of an Engineer" given this is from the 1940s.

No thoughts explained, no moments gained, all hope forever lost

Burnt by fire, blind in sight, lost in ire
We'll hoist a hand, becalmed upon a troubled sea
I fear a mighty wave is threatening me
We'll hoist a hand, or drown amidst this stormy sea
'Come follow after,' cry the humble, 'You will surely see ...'
